I LOVE MY OVERLOCKER (and in full disclosure, my coverstitch)

And I want you to love yours too!

This class has been designed so you can get the most out of your machine. I love how quick and easy sewing knit tops and pants are, not to mention the different finishes you can achieve with knit fabrics. And there are some pretty awesome decorative techniques that can be added to woven fabrics too, all on your Overlocker.

This Loungewear Edit has been designed to show you how much more your Overlocker can do. Not just finishing seams, which is pretty awesome, but techniques like roll hemming & flatlocking ( (if your machine is able to).

You’ll learn some pretty nifty techniques like how to tackle inside & outside corners, starting & finishing in the middle of a seam cleanly, and plenty more.

The aim of this workshop is to make a Loungewear outfit. I’ve chosen patterns that are totally doable on the overlocker, will teach you a technique or two and have you lounging around in total sytle.

On the first Saturday, after a covering off a few techniques in the AM you’ll make either the Hug Hoodie by Made It Patterns (click here) or the Marlo Sweater by True Bias (click here) so you can put into practice what you have just learnt (click on the pattern name to be taken to their website).

On the 2nd Saturday we get into PANTS!! I mean, loungewear is not complete without pants right!! The choice is Slow Pants by Made it Patterns (click here) or Hudson Pants by True Bias (click here). And can I say that the Hudson Pants pattern is one of my most used commercial patterns in my arsenal, I have made various forms of this pattern over the years – probably around 20 pairs by now!!

PLEASE NOTE: You do need to buy and download the patterns yourself (if you don’t have them already). I have included all the links you’ll need above & there is an option for me to print on A0 for you including postage in the drop down menu when booking.

NB: Although a Fearless Beginner workshop, this is not designed as an absolute beginners class (that can be arranged if required), you will need to know how to thread & use your machine.

Requirements:

  • Your Overlocker in working order – please do not book into this class if your machine is ‘not quite working’, I am not a mechanic and I cannot fix machines that are not working properly. Not to mention how incredibly disruptive to the running of the class and the other Sewsters this can be.
