meetMILK Tencel Sanded Twill – Puff

$22.50

From the meetMILK website (scroll to the bottom of this page to see what I think).

Tencel twill in a soft and smooth twill weave. It has a more coarse structure than our medium twill and the texture is more peachy and sanded. It has beautiful soft drape.

Weight enough for lighter jackets and coats – but also perfect for both blouses, shirts, dresses, skirts and trousers.

Tencel Sanded Twill is part of our sustainable collection ‘meet MILK’, which we have build from a selection of specially chosen fabrics in sustainable, eco-friendly, and not least, beautiful, stylish and comfortable qualities.

Tencel is made of wood pulp from sustainably certified beech and eucalyptus trees, which is made into fibers, that can be spun.
The composition of natural fibres from the wood, makes Tencel utterly comfortable to wear. It is soft and breathable, and it has a really good ability to absorb moisture and let it go again.

The fibres are naturally anti-bacterial, which means less need for washing. Tencel binds color really well, and doesn’t get washed out like eg. cotton and viscose. The natural fibres are anti-static and doesn’t cling to the body.

The Tencel used in our meet MILK collection is certified by Lenzing which means that the sustainable quality is guaranteed.

What I think:

Ooohhhh la la. I LOVE tencel, and this sanded tencel twill has such a soft hand. It’s opaque, so does not need to be lined, and it drapes beautifully. It would great for so many garments – think skirts, trou, tops, blouses, and outerwear like anoraks or trench coats.

It washes up beautifully, I even threw it in the dryer to see how it would come out, and had no issues.

It’s lovely to wear, creases a little bit, but nothing out of the ordinary. I made a short pair of Amy Overalls using this fabric. Easy to cut and sew.

The colour Puff is a beautiful blush pink.
