Studio Policy & Cancellation Policy

Class/Workshop Policies

In order to ensure each student receives ample attention, class/workshop numbers are limited to a maximum of 6 (8 for freestyle open class) unless otherwise noted. To make the most of the time we have, please arrive promptly and be prepared for the class/workshop you have registered for. We cram a lot into a small space of time and want to make the most of it.

Class and Workshop Cancellation Policy

All class/workshops purchased are subject to Studio of Sewing’s cancellation policy. Please read this before booking. By registering and paying for a class you accept the terms and conditions outlined in the cancellation policy. Spaces in the classes/workshops are limited, therefore in order to reserve your space, full payment is required at the time of booking and is non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another day. Students who withdraw from a class with more than 72 hours’ notice will be issued an 80% refund or studio credit if the class is fully booked and the space can be re-sold from a waiting list. Any refunds issued will also be less credit card fees if applicable. If the class is not full and/or there is no waiting list, then the fee is non-refundable. Students who pull out of a second/third day of a class/workshop/MasterClass will not have this missed day offered as a refund or a transfer to the next time the course/workshop/MasterClass is held. Studio of Sewing reserves the right to not issue a refund. Students who withdraw with less than 72 hours’ notice forfeit their class/workshop fee. Students who don’t show up forfeit their class/workshop fee.

Beginners Dressmaking Course Cancellation Policy

Space for the Beginners Dressmaking Course is very limited, therefore to reserve your space for the course, full payment is required at the time of booking and is non-refundable and can not be transferred to different day/s. If you can’t make any of the 4 dates as scheduled, there are no transfers to a different day or a refund for that day. If you do not show up to one of the scheduled dates, you forfeit your fee. The first two weeks are the biggest learning curves, missing either of these two dates may result in you forfeiting your course fee.

Freestyle Class Cancellation Policy

Space for the Freestyle classes are limited, therefore to reserve your space for the class, full payment is required at the time of booking and is non-refundable and can not be transferred to a different day. Freestyle Classes are booked and paid for the month in advance. For consecutive Freestyle classes, there will be no refunds or credits issued for students who do not attend one or more of the classes that have been booked and paid for. If you do not show up for a Freestyle Class you forfeit your fee.

Regular Monthly Freestyle Policies

Once you become a Regular Monthly Freestyle Sewster, I will continue to book you in on a monthly basis unless you tell me otherwise. Payment for the month is due the week before, and I will email you requesting payment, prompt payment is appreciated. Costs are (depending on a 4 week or 5 week month)  $180/$225 for evening classes ($45 per class), $260/$325 for Thursday classes ($65 per class), of course public holidays and Studio closures will be reflected in the number of weeks. As a Regular Freestyler, I am saving you a place at the Studio, which means I cannot book anyone else in – because of this, payment is absolutely expected whether you come to class or not, I place a huge amount of trust that you will be making payment. If you are not able to come for a full month, class costs will be $55 per class for evening and $75 per class for Thursdays – prior notice is appreciated. One calendar month’s notice is required if you wish to no longer attend as a Regular Freestyler. Telling me that you have changed your mind/will not be coming and therefore will not be paying, the week before or when the new month has started is not 1 months notice. Failure to give 1 months notice may result in your space in future classes being jeopardised.

Covid Cancellation Policy

If I am required to isolate, classes and workshops will be rescheduled to future dates.

Weekend Workshops/classes: If the new dates don’t work for you a refund will be offered or you can opt to have a Studio credit for future workshops/classes (store credit to be used within 6 months).

Freestylers will have classes already paid for held in credit. Credit for classes must be used within 3 months of the Studio up and running again.

What happens when I’m sick/unable to attend class, or in isolation?

You’ll be notified by text to let you know that class has been postponed/cancelled. Freestylers will have the class held in credit. Workshops will be rescheduled to a later date. If the new dates don’t suit, a refund will be offered, or you can opt for a Studio credit. Credits for classes must be used within three months.
