Modern Speed Tailoring
Have you always wanted to tackle tailoring, but didn’t know where to start? This MasterClass is what you have been waiting for.
The Closet Core Patterns Jasika Blazer is speed tailoring at it’s best. The amount of hand stitching has been kept to an absolute minimum by using fusible interfacings. But you will still end up with a classic tailored jacket. It has an ageless, semi fitted look.
The Jasika is fully lined, with a classic notched collar, single button closure, back vent, shoulder pads, optional welt pockets and fabulous two pieced sleeves. There are plenty of ways to make this blazer truly unique, optional pocket flaps, top stitching, decorative sleeve cuff buttons, and elbow patches for that retro blazer look.
NB: This MasterClass focuses on the art of speed tailoring, we will be able to cover basic fitting issues but this is not a fitting class.

Regarding the Jasika Blazer Pattern:
I have decided not offer to supply the tissue paper versions of the Jasika Blazer pattern due to feedback from past MasterClasses.
It has proven to be much easier to work with a PDF downloaded version of the Jasika Blazer Pattern, this way I can print your size only (or a band of sizes) and this has made things a lot easier for Sewsters to work with. It is a 4 page print and I have factored this in to the costs if you choose this option. You will need to purchase your own PDF copy of the pattern if you haven’t already done so – click here to go to the Jasika Blazer Link
If you already own a tissue paper copy of the pattern, that’s totally cool too and absolutely fine.

Workshop Pre-work
The focus of this class is to learn the modern art of Speed Tailoring. So the garment can be made in the time allowed, you will need to cut your pattern, main fabric and lining ahead of time. The interfacing & horse hair canvas will be prepped during class time. You may wish to make a quick fugly before the class to check fit before you cut into the ‘good’ fabric.
*Please note that some homework may be required to keep on track. Because Sewsters work at different speeds, and there is no pressure to work at the same speed as other participants, every endeavour is made to get you to complete your garment, but sometimes a follow up class may be required.
Skill Level: Intermediate & Advanced: You will be a super confident Sewster, having tackled plenty of patterns already and have a thorough understanding of commercial patterns.
